DISCIPLINE IS NOT A DIRTY WORD
“ A DISCIPLINED MIND LEADS TO HAPPINESS AND AN UNDICIPLINED MIND LEADS TO SUFFERINGS. IT’S TIME TO BECOME THE DISCIPLE OF DISCIPLINE.”
These are the words from the famous tibetian spiritual leader DALAI LAMA.
The Word DISCIPLINE is full of negative connotation but I'm here to tell you otherwise. One can feel the sense of , restrictions, strictness and restaints by discipline but it does not always has to be about deprivation. Taking a disciplined approach towards life can lead to much more meaningful outcome.
Discipline is synonymous with good habbits. Good habbits performed daily can create lifelong changes. It doesn't demand 24/7 commitment rather it should be incorporated in day to day life. It's as simple as that.
Discipline shouldn't mean ditching fun altogether. It's just choosing fun things at right time. What could be better than treating yourself after you have done something to earn it and that's how you are worth it .
Life is not a spectator sport. You have to roll up your sleeves and work really hard to achieve your goal. Offcourse, circumstances and misfortunes are not in our hands but efforts are always in our side. Yet there are people sitting on the sidelines , never taking chances. They wait passively for life to happen for them. And then there is a third category of people who knows life never guarantees success. They take steps ahead, go for it and make things happen for them with organisation and discipline.
Discipline to me is alignment as it makes my mind and soul to work together with a purpose. Most of the time, our minds are irrational due to various emotions, that we tend to do things wrong but if we are disciplined, the focus never changes and we move on to the right path..
Being self disciplined is not the only thing we should focus on. It plays a key role in building societal harmony too.
As discipline is the most misunderstood term in our society, there is a much need to rectify its actual meaning. It is also the trust and collective expectations that every individual will follow the rules and norms of the society. Discipline is very good for health as it reinforces against the disappointments caused due to failures and also gives
stamina, a sense of purpose and productivity.
There are a few pointers that we should keep in our minds in order to become DISCIPLE OF DISCIPLINE.
They are:-
*Set a goal.
*Make a plan of action.
*Be specific by writing the to do list to achieve your goal.
*Review to see how things are going.
*Give yourself a little reward along the way untill you reach the goal.
Becoming a disciple of discipline is not as bad as you think. Success does not come to those who wait but who act now.
Always remember discipline is incomplete without the other “D” word ie, DETERMINATION.
SUFFER THE PAIN OF DISCIPLINE OR SUFFER THE PAIN OF REGRET……..THE CHOICE IS YOURS.π
